‘Fast and Furious’ 9 and 10 Get Release Dates

Cars may come and go, but family is forever. And we do mean forever. With Fast 8 already set for 2017, Universal Pictures has just confirmed dates for the next two installments of the Fast and Furious saga. The newly announced movies bring us up to 10 Fast and Furious movies across 20 years. Not bad for a franchise that started out as a less-starry Gone in 60 Seconds and/or a cheesier Point Break ripoff. Series star Vin Diesel revealed on Instagram that Fast and Furious 9 will arrive April 19, 2019, followed by Fast and Furious 10 on April 2, 2021. No other films are set for those dates at this time, and in fact Fast and Furious 10 is now the first title to lock in an exact 2021 release date. (Take that, Marvel and DC!) No other details have been given about the new sequels. We don’t know what they’ll be titled, or who’ll direct them, or even who will star. F. We’ve learned a lot of things through seven (soon-to-be eight) Fast & Furiousfilms, whether it’s that cars can fly or that Ja Rule cost himself a lot of money. Yet, the biggest lesson is that there’s nothing more important than family. We’ll see ‘F&F9’ in 2019 and ‘F&F10’ in 2021So, with “Fast & Furious 8,” the eighth instalment in the vehicular action franchise that’s known by the silly title “The Fate of the Furious” in the US, opening to the highest-grossing opening weekend of all-time with over $500 million worldwide, nitro-boosting it past “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Jurassic World,” helped in part by its international appeal and the emerging #Filmmarket of China that Hollywood is becoming so eager to tap, future “Fast & Furious” sequels were inevitable, and franchise star #Vin Diesel has confirmed at least two of them. Kurt Russell says he would be willing to return as Mr. Nobody for Fast and Furious 9. Russell made his debut in the multi-billion dollar Fast and the Furious franchise in the seventh installment, Fast and Furious 7. The movie went on to gross over $1.5 billion worldwide, more than all the previous Fast and the Furious movies combined. Russell played the part of Mr. Nobody, a covert operations leader who helps Dom in his quest to stop Shaw, in return for Dom’s help in stopping Jakande from obtaining God’s Eye.
